Title: Journeying to Ithaka

Constantine Cavafy’s provocative poem, “Ithaka”,  is the starting point for exploring how our own journeying grows more alive as we allow the “Kingdom of God, Kingdom of Heaven” passages to become more powerful touchstones for the “here and nowness”.

Ithaka begins: “When you start on your journey, pray that the road is long, full of adventure, full of  knowledge”.

The question becomes, What might Jesus’ teachings regarding this kingdom, have to add to this long journey ? And, how might one live more fully into this adventure ?

Check your Records books for “KIngdom” teachings and consider how these images might influence the “journey”.  A note from John Powell, S.J, it’s much easier to discuss truths than to live them.

Blessings on beginning this journeying.
